Megan Borthwick has swapped Wearside for Teesside, joining Boro Women as their third summer signing.
The shot-stopper joins after a two-year stint at Sunderland.
Previously of Durham Women, Borthwick has made the move to Boro, having spent her whole career on Wearside.
In her final full season for Durham, Megan also jointly claimed the FA Women’s Championship Golden Glove, with ten clean sheets.
With Championship experience under her belt, Borthwick’s signature adds to the Boro back line that was the second-best defence in the league last season.
Women’s Head Coach Michael Mulhern said: “It was important we added experience to the group this season, each signing had to add real value to the squad going into a very tough league, Megan does just that.
“She is a great goalkeeper with Championship experience she impressed during her time at Durham and her time at Sunderland adds professionalism and experience.
“The traits she brings to the squad are crucial as we look to solidify our position in tier three.”
