On this day in 2006, Boro made history by competing in our first European final, against Sevilla in Eindhoven.
Boro's passage to the final saw us pull off two astonishing comebacks at the quarter-final and semi-final stage against FC Basel and Steaua Bucharest.
Our fans headed to the Netherlands in their droves, with a sellout allocation inside the Philips Stadion and thousands more soaking in the atmosphere across the Dutch city.
It wasn't meant to be for a Boro side hoping to give a fairytale journey the dream ending, eventually going down 4-0 to the Spanish side, but the supporters helped make it an unforgettable occasion nonetheless.
