Michael Carrick has been named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for March.
Boro despatched Reading 5-0, Preston 4-0 and Swansea 3-1, collecting ten points and 13 goals from four March games.
It's our Head Coach's first MOTM award and he said: “It’s always nice to be acknowledged like this but it’s not about me. It’s all about the team, the staff and the supporters.
"For me, awards always mean the team is doing well and that’s what matters. We’ve made good progress over the past five months and our aim is to keep improving in everything we do.”
Danny Wilson chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, and he said: “A blistering month of March ensured that Michael and his side are hot on the heels of Sheffield United in third place in the Championship.
"An unbeaten four games played and ten points gained, while impressively scoring 13 goals and only conceding two.”
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “The job Michael Carrick has done since taking over at Boro is nothing short of magnificent.
“When he took over, no one could possibly have imagined they’d be in any conversation about automatic promotion and that speaks volumes for the job he’s done!
“Their form in March was relentless, piling more pressure onto Sheffield United at every opportunity, and dismantling teams with football not seen at the Riverside for many a year.”
