Read what Boro Women head coach Michael Mulhern has said after yesterday's goal-less draw against Norton & Stockton Ancients.

Michael opened by giving his thoughts on Sunday's game by saying:

"I feel the heat played its part, especially as we’ve only had two pre season games due to circumstances beyond our control."

"However even though we were reduced to ten players, our tempo improved in the second half. The girls worked very hard and had several chances to win the game, we simply ran out of time. The positives were a solid clean sheet and the second half improvement. We controlled the game, we just need the end product."

He then followed by speaking ahead of next week's tie in the FAWNL Cup determining round against Huddersfield Town by saying:

"The cup game is another opportunity to give players 90 minutes, that’s how I see it, doing well in the league is my priority. This is simply a game to prepare us for the league campaign. The fact it’s against opponents from a higher league makes it important. I want to know where we are currently, as that’s where we want to be as soon as possible."

"We played Huddersfield in a friendly two weeks ago and they’re a very good side with great movement and ability. Their system tests teams so I know it’ll be a great test again this weekend. It’s exactly what we need as we develop."

Boro travel to the Stafflex Arena, in Huddersfield, on Sunday 27 August, at 2pm.
