MFC Academy players have collected over 50 shoe boxes to help children affected by a devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Our Academy stars worked closely with the central Mosque in Middlesbrough, collecting pens, paper, torches, small games, and items of children's clothing to assist the ongoing aid for families in western Asia.
Head of Education Barry Dawson said: “When the earthquake happened several boys from the Academy said ‘If it happened in our country and to my family, I would like people from around the world to help.’
“The idea of the shoe box collection was a way of all the Academy boys understanding the enormity of the disaster and having social responsibility to offer support to the children who have suffered the most.”
