Boro Women are ready for their Riverside Stadium debut, where Stockport County are the visitors for matchday five.
Michael Mulhern’s side are heading into the game on the back of a two-game win streak, following victories against Durham Cestria and Leeds United in recent weeks.
Ellen Packham’s header separated Boro and Leeds United last time out in Garforth, where she headed in a Lauren Robson corner in the first half.
The Opposition
Stockport had a brilliant 2022/23 season, finishing third place, with forward Maria Figueiredo finishing joint-fifth place in the scorers standings with 14 goals in 21 appearances.
Figueiredo has continued her fine form from last season, scoring two in County’s opening four games.
The Hatters have started the 2023/24 season with a tough selection of fixtures, but still managing to pick-up four points from the first four games, with a win against Durham Cestria on top of progressing in the FAWNL Cup, with a victory over Midlands division side Sheffield FC.

Previous Encounters
Boro and Stockport met twice in the league last season, which marked their first meeting since Boro knocked the Hatters out of the FA Cup in 2018.
However, it was Stockport who emerged victorious in both matchups last season, picking up six points out of six en-route to their third place finish.
Pre-Match Quotes
Head Coach Michael Mulhern spoke ahead of the Stockport County game following last weekend’s victory at Leeds United by saying:
“It’s going to be a tough one. They play with a different formation, they utilise a diamond meaning they’re going to overload the midfield, so we have to deal with that.”
“They cause teams problems, teams only beat them narrowly, if they do get beat. Having watched their defeat against Leeds, they controlled large parts of the game so we’ll have to be ready because it’s a tough one.”
