MFC has achieved Silver in the EFL Equality Code of Practice.
The award recognises the club's commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, having championed the cause through banner campaign RiverSideBySide since 2017.
The club has received the Silver certification following assessment in six areas; accountability and commitment, reporting and tackling discrimination, data capture and insight, policy and legal compliance, awareness raising and communication, and education and training.
Twenty-nine EFL clubs received the results of their assessments, with Boro one of just ten to achieve Silver alongside Watford, Huddersfield Town, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, Salford City, MK Dons, Charlton Athletic, Preston North End and Lincoln City.
EFL Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, David McArdle, said: “Our 72 clubs represent people from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds and its absolutely vital that they are representative of those communities whether that be on the pitch, in the boardroom or in the stands.
"Across the leagues the progress being made is very encouraging and the EFL will continue to support and empower all clubs to make a positive impact on their communities and the wider game.”
MFC's Head of Business Operations and Community, Helena Bowman, said: "We're proud of the progress made at MFC and MFC Foundation, and are pleased to have received Silver in the EFL Equality Code of Practice in recognition of the commitment and efforts of all of our staff. We will continue those efforts to make our club the most welcoming place it can be for staff, supporters and other stakeholders."
Initially launched in 2012, the EFL’s Equality Code of Practice was revamped to become a multi-level accreditation scheme at the start of the 2022/23 season, which will see every one of the 72 clubs assessed on their EDI practices by the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
