An opticians in Middlesbrough has undergone a major refurbishment – and a brand new audiology store has opened in Coulby Newham – signifying major investment in the local area.
This means Boro Season Card holders who are yet to take advantage of the FREE eye test offer at Specsavers Middlesbrough can do so in the new-look store. The special offer was announced at the start of the season and is still valid until the end of May.
Phil Bird, retail director at Specsavers Middlesbrough says: ‘We’ve welcomed many fans through our doors for an eye test since we announced our collaboration with Middlesbrough Football Club last year and we hope to welcome even more before the season is out.’
The Middlesbrough store on Newport Road has served the local area for 35 years and has undergone a major £375,000 facelift.
Meanwhile a new, standalone audiology store has opened in Coulby Newham in response to growing demand for hearing services at the existing Coulby Newham store in Parkway Shopping Centre. It will offer more hearing tests and wax removal services every month, and customers will benefit from shorter waiting times for appointments.
The stores are locally owned by directors Phil Bird, Martin Dillon and Naseer Mohammed while David Lycett heads up audiology.
Phil adds: ‘We are incredibly proud to announce this significant cash injection in our local area and passionate about bringing vital healthcare services to the local community.
‘At a time when so many other retailers are disappearing from the high street, we wanted to send the message that we are here to stay – we’re committed to investing in our communities’ health through high-quality services, clinical expertise and top-of-the-range services.’
