Boro Women take on Huddersfield Town in a crucial home clash this weekend.

Read up on their opponents here ahead of Sunday's 2pm kick-off at Stockton Town FC.

The background

Huddersfield come into the game sitting in fourth place after two wins, a draw and a loss in the league.

Most recently, the Terriers progressed to the first round of the League Cup with a 3-1 win over York City after going 1-0 down inside five minutes.

Their last league game came in the form of a 1-0 away loss to Chorley, which was likely a shock to the system for the Terriers but shows the competitiveness and unforgiving nature of the league.

Huddersfield's 11-year stay in the Northern Premier Division came to an end last year as they were relegated, winning just twice all season and accumulating nine points.

Key players

Leah Embely joined the Terriers from Burnley in the summer, where she played 24 games in a side that finished in fourth place in the third tier while scoring eight goals in that time. Embely bagged her first goal for the club in their 4-1 win over Doncaster Belles in the League Cup.

Cara Fields pulls the strings for Huddersfield in midfield and is a crucial player for the Terriers despite not being the most prolific goalscorer. Instead, she gets the Terriers playing from deep with some tidy passing.

Another summer addition to the Huddersfield squad was Charlotte Stuart, who has plenty of experience at this level, playing a crucial role at Barnsley who finished fourth last season, scoring six goals. Stuart is a presence in the midfield who uses height and physicality to battle for the ball in compact areas.

Previous meetings

The Terriers have history in their favour leading up to this weekend's game, having won all of the previous three fixtures.
