By Middlesbrough FC

Boro’s match against Plymouth Argyle will be our first designated TJFA matchday as we celebrate Teesside’s grassroots game.

The Teesside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA) is one of the largest, longest-running and most successful junior football networks across the whole of Europe. More than 95 clubs from Whitby to Durham make up the huge set-up, with age categories from Under-7 to Under-18.

It’s a huge source of pride for boys’ and girls’ football clubs across our region, and provides the foundation for some of Boro’s biggest success stories too, with the TJFA holding strong links to our own Academy. Each year, we host the TJFA’s ‘finals day’ at our Rockliffe Park training ground, and this year is no different, with teams from all over Teesside due there in May for their chance at glory.

Boro’s match against Plymouth Argyle on Good Friday (18 April) is our TJFA matchday, as we celebrate all those junior teams and invite them to attend the Riverside together.

We’ll be having a pitch side parade with representatives from each club in attendance, and there’s chance to win exclusive prizes including a kit for next season and chance to have your team photo at the Riverside.

TJFA teams are already in place from our regular matchday experiences, including player walkout and the half-time penalty competition.

Junior teams are encouraged to come together in their club colours, with designated seating blocks 42 and 43 picked out in the East Stand, while there’s exclusive group sale pricing when teams buy tickets together:

  • Adult: £30
  • Over-65: £20
  • Under-18: £10
(Minimum 8 tickets)

Please contact the Ticket Office on ticket@mfc.co.uk or 01642 929421 to book for the TJFA matchday with this group sales discount. The Ticket Office will also take contact details to provide teams with more information on taking part in the matchday activity in due course.

If your team is planning to attend but is not purchasing using the group sales price, please let us know via email at gordon.cox@mfcfoundation.co.uk.
