Boro Under-18s picked up a point in this Tees-Wear clash.

Prince Acheampong continued his fine form when he opened the scoring for Rob Jones’ side just before the half-hour mark.

After the break, it got better for Boro when Daniel James made it two. Acheampong was involved once again when he drove down the wing before picking out James inside the box who finished smartly.

With 20 minutes to play, Sunderland did pull a goal back through James Barker to set up a close finish.

The visitor's pressure paid off when Alex Lienard found the top corner from a free kick to level the game.

This was to be the last of the action in the contest Rob Jones' side facing Derby in their next fixture.
