Boro Women have marked the start of the New Year with another coup, securing Georgia Gibson on loan until the end of the season from Newcastle United.

In just over four years at the Magpies, Georgia helped them secure successive promotions and finished as their league's top scorer in the 2022/23 season.

During her time on Tyneside Georgia was renowned for her goalscoring ability from midfield, finding the back of the net 58 times at Newcastle.

With another Barclay's Women's Championship level player joining the ranks, it gives Michael Mulhern's side more firepower as they push on for the second half of the season.

On the signing of both Georgia Gibson and Kacie Elson, Michael Mulhern said: "I’m delighted to bring both of them to Boro."

"I’ve seen a lot of them over the last few years and they’re proven at this level and above, and that’s important as we develop and move forward as a group."

Georgia links up with the squad immediately and will be available to make her debut this Sunday at Stockton Town FC as Boro Women take on Leeds United at 2pm.
