The 27-year-old started his footballing career at Oldham Athletic where he made his first senior debut in 2015.

While at Oldham Athletic the centre-back had multiple loan spells before joining Rangers in 2019.

In his first season at the Scottish side, George made two appearances in the Europa League and scored in a 3-1 defeat against Bayern Leverkusen.

After spending two seasons at Rangers, George made the move to Ipswich in 2021.

Committed to the community, he was named EFL Player in the Community in 2023.

Since joining the club, George has made 75 appearances in all competitions and played a vital role in Ipswich’s return to the Championship in the 2022/23 season, before helping the Tractor Boys make it back-to-back promotions into the Premier League.

The defender joined Boro on loan in the summer of 2024 before making the move permanent in January 2025.
