Megan Borthwick has joined Boro Women, swapping Wearside for Teesside.

- Megan Borthwick was born in March 1996 on Wearside.
- She began her career at Boldon, first with the boys team and shortly moving on to the girls team in 2004 for six years.
- Borthwick then moved to Sunderland Nissan, where she was crowned league champions at U16 level and would stay for three years.
- Her first senior move was to the Magpies, and she would stay on Tyneside for three years.
- Megan's breakthrough in senior football came at Durham, where she played for six years making 32 appearances.
- Borthwick won the 2021 BC Women’s Championship Golden Glove, keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding just 15 goals across a whole season.
- In 2022 she moved to Durham Cestria, Durham Women’s sister club.
- Megan was awarded the Freedom of the City of Durham in recognition of her services to women's football in the city, being only the second woman in history to be awarded the honour in Durham.
- She returned to the Women’s Championship (now known as WSL2) in 2023 as she moved to Sunderland, featuring six times for the Black Cats.
