What is the date of the concert?
Wednesday 1 June 2022.
What time do gates open?
The fan village will open to all ticket holders from approximately 2.30pm* and the stadium bowl is expected to open at 5.30pm*. For safety and security reasons, ticket holders will not be allowed to leave and be re-admitted once they have entered the venue.
Hospitality areas will open at 5.30pm. Please see below for further information on hospitality.

What is the fan village?
The fan village is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Riverside Stadium, in the two main car parks on the footprint of the stadium. It is designed to get you in the mood for the live show. There will be a wide variety of food outlets and bars as well as ‘live’ music and entertainment designed to allow you to soak up the pre-event atmosphere.
The fan village will also have official merchandise stalls.
Will I be able to purchase food and drink in the stadium during the concert?
Yes, in the fan village there will be a wide range of food and beverages available to buy from 2.30pm. Food stalls will include traditional fish & chips, burgers, pizzas, etc. Alcohol will be available to buy for adults aged 18+, however you will be required to provide photo identification as proof of age.
Once you enter the stadium itself all the concourses have food and beverage outlets which will be open right through the event. If you have a standing ticket, you will be able to buy from various outlets around the edge of the pitch as well as from the concourse units. The village will have cash and card options available for payment, though card is the preferred method.
Please note that all drinks, regardless of content, will be served in plastic glasses.
Can we camp overnight?
Camping will not be allowed at the stadium or in the fan village. Access to the site will not be available to ticket holders until the fan village opens. Ticket holders will not be permitted to bring rucksacks, holdalls or similar items larger than A4 size into the stadium or fan village.
Who are the support acts?
Manic Street Preachers are the supporting act.
Are cameras allowed?
No professional cameras or recording equipment will be allowed into the stadium.
Can I purchase official merchandise at the concert?
Yes, you will be able to purchase official merchandise on the day of the concert at various locations in the fan village. Please avoid buying unofficial merchandise from street peddlers outside the stadium.
How do I get to Riverside Stadium?
Car (look for the Riverside Stadium signs):
- From the North: please use A1, A689, A19, then A66 towards Middlesbrough
- From the South: please use A19, then A66 towards Middlesbrough
- From the East: please use A171 or A174, then A66 towards Middlesbrough
- From the West: please use the A66 towards Middlesbrough
If you require car parking official Middlesbrough Council town centre car parks are recommended. A small charge will be levied but parking is free after 6pm.
Train: Your nearest railway station is Middlesbrough. There are regular direct connections to/from Darlington and York. The railway station is a 15-20 minute walk from the stadium.
Bus: Your nearest central bus station is Middlesbrough. Arriva buses as well as National Express and Megabus coaches use this bus station. There are currently no direct bus services to the stadium from the bus station which is a 20-25-minute walk away.
Further details on car parking and hotels
Is there parking available at the stadium?
There will not be any parking on the stadium site itself, although provision for blue badge holders to obtain a parking permit as close to the stadium as possible, will be made available shortly.
Ticket holders should look to use designated town centre car parks, many of which are just a short walk from the stadium.
Full traffic management arrangements, including parking facilities and event road closures, will be published nearer the date.
Can I get dropped off and picked up at the stadium?
A designated drop off point in the vicinity of the stadium will be clearly marked. In the interests of public safety, all roads immediately surrounding the stadium will be closed to vehicles from around midday on the day of the concert, to ensure pedestrians can arrive, enjoy and leave the event safely.
There will also be a designated pick-up point although please be mindful that roads immediately outside the closure zone are likely to be very congested.
It is strongly advised that taxis are booked in advance. Prices will be at a premium and taxis will be from designated pick-up points only. They will not be able to enter the stadium car parks and immediate surrounding areas.
What can I bring with me?
If it is necessary to bring a bag, ensure it is as small as possible. Nothing larger than size A4 will be permitted, and bags will be searched.
Suitable clothing and footwear in case of inclement weather. Umbrellas will not be permitted inside the venue.
Individual hand sanitizer will be allowed.
What should I NOT bring with me?
All bags will be searched on entry and anything larger than A4 size will not be permitted. The following is a list of prohibited items:
- Alcohol, except in hand sanitizer
- Glass, cans, plastic bottles or thermos flasks of any kind
- Flammable liquids and aerosols (including perfume, hairspray, etc)
- Laser pens/pointers
- Laptops, iPads or similar electronic tablets, professional cameras/video equipment
- Food and drink, unless for medicinal purposes – please notify the stadium prior to the day of the event if you need to bring items for medicinal use by calling 07340 718965.
- Umbrellas, signs, banners, flags, inflatables, selfie sticks
- Air horns, whistles or other noise making devices
- Knives or weapons, fireworks, smoke bombs, confetti, glitter bombs or sprays
- Any other items, publicised in advance by stadium management and or the promoters, or to which they raise objections on the day of the event.
Admission may be refused to anyone carrying one or more of the items listed above. It will be each ticket holder’s responsibility to dispose of any items that cannot be brought into the venue. Please note it will not be possible for any such items to be collected after the event.
Am I likely to be searched on arrival?
Yes.
Is there an opportunity to do special announcements?
No. It will not be possible to request special announcements or displays on screens.
Where are the bars and toilets?
There are bars and toilets throughout the fan village and all the concourses. All will be signposted at the venue.
Are there cash machines at the stadium?
There are no cash machines on site. The vast majority of food stalls, beverage outlets and merchandise units will take most credit and debit cards or cash payments. Cards payments are strongly preferred. The nearest cash machines are located in Middlesbrough town centre.
Are there smoking areas inside the stadium?
The Riverside Stadium is a no smoking venue and smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is not permitted in seating areas, the pitch or concourses.
However, for this event, smoking will be allowed at the fan village and all external circulation areas.
Hospitality Guests
Where do I enter the stadium and at what time?
All hospitality suites open at 5.30pm and will close by 11.30pm at the latest. Bronze package access is via the Hardwick Suite only in the East Stand of the stadium. For those guests who are new to the Riverside Stadium, this is situated around the back of the stadium. Silver and Gold package guests should enter via Main Reception in the West Stand at the front of the stadium.
Ticketing FAQs
Where can I buy tickets from?
There are a very limited amount of tickets available to purchase via Ticketmaster.co.uk
Can I buy a hospitality ticket for the concert?
We have extremely limited hospitality tickets available for the event. If you are interested in hospitality tickets, please email events@mfc.co.uk.
What are the ticket age restrictions?
Pitch Standing | No U14s, U16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+. |
Reserved Seats | U16s must be accompanied by an adult 18+. No children 5 and under. |
Can I buy tickets on the day?
There are no ticket sales available on the day of the concert.
Can I change my location on the day?
No, it is not possible to move to another area.
Can children and babies get in free with a parent?
No, everyone entering the stadium must have a pre-purchased ticket. It is not advisable to bring very young children due to the noise levels experienced at outdoor concerts. ALL children under the age of 14 years, in reserved seating MUST be accompanied by adult aged 18 or over.
When will I receive my tickets?
Tickets are now available and can be downloaded from your ticket provider.
I have lost my ticket, what should I do?
Please contact your point of purchase. It is unlikely that we would be able to help anyone who arrives on the day of the event and claims their ticket has been lost, stolen, misplaced or forgotten.
I bought tickets from an unauthorised secondary ticket reseller and need to check the validity?
We advise purchasing from partnered ticket sellers only. In this instance we would advise that you need to contact the secondary site as we have no control over tickets being sold by unauthorised sites.
I live outside of the UK; will you mail my tickets to me?
Please contact your point of purchase and advise them your details.
What if I have a general admission ticket, where do I sit/stand?
General admission tickets are for standing spaces on the pitch.
If I have general admission (Pitch Standing) tickets, do I have access to any seats?
No, there are no seats on the pitch. Anyone who has purchased tickets for either of these two areas, both of which are on the pitch, will not have access to seats in any part of the stadium as these have all been sold and are, therefore, reserved.
If I have purchased a reserved seat, do I have access to the pitch?
No. We have a strict capacity for the number of people on the pitch for safety reasons, therefore, we are unable to permit those ticket holders with reserved seats in the stands to have access onto the pitch.
If I have purchased VIP tickets, where do I go on arrival?
If you have purchased a VIP ticket, standing or seated, please enter via gate 2 for Standing VIPs and Gate 3 for seated VIPs, as shown on the map attached. There will be clear signage to the VIP marquee and entrance system.

My circumstances have changed what do I need to do?
If your circumstances have changed and you can’t stand on the pitch throughout the event, or if you can no longer manage the steps to your seat, you must contact your ticket provider prior to the event.
