Here's all you need to know about our latest summer signing Matthew Hoppe...
Matthew was born in Yorba Linda, California, in March 2001.
He started his football career with LA Galaxy Academy as a teenager before playing for the Barca Residency Academy in Arizona.
In June 2019, the striker was snapped up by Schalke 04 and he played for Schalke 04 II, the club's reserve side, in 2020.
His Bundesliga debut came on November 28 2020 and just six weeks later he scored a hat-trick against Hoffenheim, becoming the first American to bag a treble in the German top flight.
Hoppe was rewarded with his first international call-up for a friendly with Switzerland in May 2021.
He made his US debut against Martinique in July, and scored his first goal against Jamaica in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
On the domestic front, Matthew made a summer deadline day 2021 move from Schalke to Mallorca.
Hoppe joined Boro in the summer of 2022.
