The club have secured the signing of Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz on a season-long loan from Fulham.

The 21-year-old made 28 appearances for the Cottagers last season as they swept all before them to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Rodrigo follows an illustrious list of Brazilian stars who have played for the club, and he will wear the number nine shirt.

The highly-rated marksman shot to prominence with Flamengo in the Brazilian top-flight before he joined Fulham last summer.

Boro boss Chris Wilder said: “He’s a player the club have history with and tried to sign him last year. He’s a real talented player and we’re delighted to have him here.”

He is the ninth new face to arrive at Rockliffe after a busy summer in the transfer market.

The club have already drafted in Zack Steffen, Liam Roberts, Ryan Giles, Darragh Lenihan, Tommy Smith, Alex Mowatt, Marcus Forss and Matthew Hoppe and the boss is hoping to add more before the deadline on 1 September.
