Get to know more about our newest summer signing Marcus Forss...

  • Marcus was born in Turku, on the south west tip of Finland.
  • His grandfather Rainer Forss is a former Finland international.
  • He moved to England to join the West Brom Academy at the age of 13.
  • He was a scholar with the Baggies before joining Brentford in 2017, where he initially played with their B team.
  • He was the B team player of the 2017/18 and scored 21 goals.
  • Marcus stepped up to the first team squad the following season and scored twice in nine appearances.
  • He signed a new four-year contract with the Bees at the start of 2019/20 before joining Wimbledon on loan where he scored 11 goals in 19 appearances.
  • The 2020/21 season saw Marcus establish himself as a first team regular and after scoring seven goals in 13 games, he was awarded a new five-and-a-half-year contract.
  • He went on to score the decisive in their play-off semi-final win against Bournemouth and ended the season with 10 goals as Brentford won promotion to the Premier League.
  • After making his full international debut in November 2020 he was a member of Finland’s Euro 2020 squad.
  • Forss was named in the Team of the Tournament in the EFL Cup in 2021/22 where he scored five goals and was joint leading goalscorer in the competition.
  • He spent the back end of last season on loan at Hull.
  • Signs a four-year contract with Boro in July 2022.
