Three fans have received lifetime bans from the Riverside after pitch incursions this season.
Cavanagh Reaney and Luke Davies, who ran on to the pitch during the game against Birmingham City have both received four-year football banning orders by the courts and in addition they have both been handed lifetime bans from the Riverside.
The pitch invader at our home game against Sheffield United has also been handed a lifetime ban from the Riverside.
“Entering the pitch while the game is in progress will not be tolerated,” said a club spokesman. “To enter the pitch at any time is a criminal offence as is abusive and threatening behaviour.
“Irrespective of any punishments imposed by the courts, any fan who enters the pitch will be banned from the Riverside Stadium for life.
"This is our football club and we will not tolerate individuals who bring shame and embarrassment to us, the town, and our people.”
The club has a strong zero tolerance policy towards all forms of anti-social behaviour, and there will be serious consequences for any supporter found guilty of using pyrotechnics, drugs, foul and abusive behaviour, or discriminatory behaviour at the Riverside Stadium.
