Ivory Coast striker Emmanuel Latte Lath has joined the Boro from Serie A side Atalanta, subject to international clearance and receipt of visa.

The 24-year-old, who joins for an undisclosed fee, has signed a four-year contract with the club, plus a further year's option.

Latte Lath joins Boro on the back of an impressive loan spell with Swiss Super League side St Gallen, where he scored 16 goals in 34 appearances.

The highly-rated marksman will add increased striking power to Michael Carrick’s squad.

“He’s a similar age to Lukas and he also plenty of experience from playing in Italy and Switzerland,” said the head coach.

“He’s exciting, quick, looks very sharp and can make things happen.

“I’m Iooking forward to getting both players settled in with the group, and delighted to have them both.”
