Our new midfield man in focus...
Lewis was born in Colchester, but moved to Rochdale as a young child and grew up a northerner.
He joined Huddersfield Town’s Academy as an 11-year-old and worked his way through the ranks at the club. He was the Terriers' Academy Player of the Year in 2017/18.
His professional debut came for Bradford City in 2018 after he joined the club on loan, and his stint with the Bantams earned him plenty of praise. He also scored his first professional goal there in a 3-0 win against Accrington Stanley.
After making 46 appearances for Bradford he returned to Huddersfield and established himself as an important member of the team.
He won the EFL Goal of the Month in January 2020 and he was also named Huddersfield's Player of the Year the same season.
Lewis was a catalyst for Huddersfield’s ascent up the Championship table under manager Carlos Corberan, and helped the team reach the Sky Bet Championship play-off final in 2021/22.
The Terriers were edged out by Nottingham Forest at Wembley. Lewis, along with teammate Harry Toffolo, would later join Forest in their return to the Premier League.
Lewis made 17 appearances for Forest and after a loan move to Blackburn Rovers fell through in the final hours of the January 2023 transfer window, Lewis made the switch to MLS side DC United, managed by Wayne Rooney.
He’d make a total of 18 appearances Stateside before returning to the UK in the summer.
