Striker Matthew Hoppe could be set to win his seventh full international cap after joining up with the USMNT's January camp.
The roster for the January training camp is traditionally filled with rising talents in their early days with the senior team. This year’s squad is no different with 11 uncapped players in the group.
USMNT assistant coach Anthony Hudson will lead the training camp, while fellow World Cup assistant B.J. Callaghan and Under-20 Men’s Youth National Team head coach Mikey Varas will serve as assistant coaches. The trio step up amid the ongoing investigation around head coach Gregg Berhalter and U.S. Soccer’s full review of the USMNT program following the conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Hoppe and his countrymen have two friendlies during the camp, against Serbia in LA (3am Thursday UK) and Colombia in Carson (12.30am Sunday UK).
