Teenage striker Calum Kavanagh has joined Newport on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old will link up with the League Two side as they look to pull clear of the division’s strugglers.

He has scored seven goals in PL2 for our Under-21s this season, and will be hoping to transfer that form to the Rodney Parade.

Calum was born just down the road from Newport in Wales, but has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level.

It will be the youngster’s second loan spell of his career, having scored one in 12 while on loan at Harrogate Town last season.
