Matt Crooks has signed a one-year contract extension, lengthening his stay on Teesside until the end of the 2024/25 season at the earliest.
The 29-year-old, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season, has had a huge impact both on and off the pitch since his arrival from Rotherham United two years ago.
He has made 84 appearances and has scored 18 goals, including memorable last-minute winners against Reading and Norwich City.
The boyhood Manchester United fan also scored our equaliser at Old Trafford in the FA Cup two seasons ago when we sent the Red Devils spinning out of the competition.
Off the pitch, Matt was named Community Player of the Year and he is very active with both his own charity - the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust - and MFC Foundation.
