Chuba Akpom is just one goal shy of cementing himself in Boro’s history books with yet another notable achievement.
The Championship’s leading marksman recently claimed Boro's 1,000th goal at the Riverside whilst also becoming the first forward to hit 20 league goals since Bernie Slaven in 1989/90, achieving the feat in style with a brace in a resounding 5-0 win over Reading.
Racking up his 25th of the season in a dominant 4-0 triumph at the weekend, Akpom has now netted in each of his last six outings at the Riverside, a streak running all the way back to his improvised header against Watford at the end of January.
Since then, Boro's free-scoring no.29 has bagged against Blackpool (x2), QPR (x2), Reading (x2), Stoke and Preston, rattling in nine across six games.
And Akpom can claim the continuous Riverside honour outright if he manages to extend his rich streak when we welcome table-topping Burnley on Good Friday.
Saturday’s left-footed finish has him joint-top of the successive goalscoring chart, on par with Hamilton Ricard and Yakubu, the duo having also fired home in six straight Riverside outings.
During the 1998/99 campaign, Ricard managed to find the back of the net against Derby, Wycombe, Everton (x2), Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn and Everton again, in the third round of the League Cup, scoring seven across six home matches.
In 2005/06, Yakubu likewise scored seven in six successive Riverside matches, levelling against former side Portsmouth before firing past Manchester United, Dnipro, Fulham, West Brom and Tottenham (x2).
Also finding the Riverside knack are Patrick Bamford and John Hendrie, who scored in five straight home matches in 2014/15 and 1993/94 respectively.
While, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Alun Armstrong, Paul Wilkinson, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink and Scott McDonald found the net in four successive Riverside outings.
