Ryan Giles paid a visit to Larchfield Community on Thursday as part of the My Boro, My Shirt campaign.
Larchfield Community is a unique facility on the border of Middlesbrough and the North York Moors for adults with learning disabilities. Set in around 160 acres of rural farmland, the community is home to a number of disabled people and welcomes more on day-placement, offering work-life opportunies including on the farm itself as well as a cafe and shop which are open to the general public.
Boro defender Ryan met around 50 residents and visitors to the facility when he called by on Thursday afternoon, posing for photos, signing autographs and taking part in a Q&A, plus taking a look at some of the fantastic shirt designs created by the disabled people as part of the My Boro, My Shirt campaign.
My Boro, My Shirt will tell the diverse stories of our fans on Teesside and further afield, and will highlight how supporters can make football a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of background.
Boro fans can get involved by taking a photograph of themselves wearing their favourite Boro shirt and uploading it to social media using the hashtag #MyBoroMyShirt.
Entries will be documented online and a number will be collected and shown at a special exhibition next year.
