Boro's promotion-winning heroes from the 1997/98 season reunited for an evening of celebration at the Riverside.
Almost exactly 25 years on from the day that a magnificent 4-1 win over Oxford United sealed Boro's swift return to the top flight, eleven of the stars of that season were back on Teesside for a night of fond memories and nostalgia.
The special guest line-up was Paul 'Magic Man' Merson, Mikkel Beck, Italian duo Marco Branca and Gianluca Festa, Craig Hignett, Steve Baker, Alun Armstrong, Andy Campbell, Steve Vickers, Craig Liddle and Neil Maddison.
The former players were each given a hero's welcome to a packed Legends Lounge at the Riverside Stadium where, after a delicious dinner, they took to the stage to reminisce about the famous 1997/98 campaign.
