As the season approaches its climax, the club is reiterating its zero-tolerance stance against all forms of anti-social behaviour.
With what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the campaign, we are determined to ensure the Riverside is a safe and welcoming environment for all.
More than 50 supporters have already been suspended this season, often alongside court-imposed football exclusion orders. The kind of behaviour which will not be tolerated includes:
- Abusive, threatening and/or discriminatory behaviour towards staff and other supporters
- Carrying or using smoke bombs or pyrotechnics
- Throwing objects onto the pitch
- Drug use within the football ground
- Drinking alcohol within view of the pitch
In addition to suspension from the club, the above criminal offences lead to court proceedings for which magistrates can issue football exclusion orders, alongside other punishments.
For the remaining two matches at the Riverside this season, Police dogs will be on-site to aid the Police in preventing prohibited items from entering the stadium.
If you see or hear anything you are concerned about please report it using our matchday text line on 07340 718965, including details of the incident and where it took place.
Pitch Incursions
Entering the pitch while the game is in progress is a criminal offence, and will lead to a lifetime ban as well as court proceedings.
Following Monday's match against Coventry City, Boro's first team players would like to return to the pitch after full-time to show their appreciation for your support throughout the season. For that to happen, the pitch must remain clear at the final whistle.
Concession Abuse
A number of fans have had their ticketing accounts suspended due to concession abuse. Concession abuse checks are carried out regularly, and those guilty face immediate suspension.
