Emmanuel Latte Lath's Riverside double secured a Boro victory over Swansea.

In another professional performance, Latte Lath increased his Sky Bet Championship season total to 10 goals with a goal in each half to bag Boro the win.

Michael Carrick named an unchanged starting 11 from our 2-0 win on Easter Monday over Sheffield Wednesday, but after time out with injury, Hayden Hackney, Rav Van Den Berg and Sonny Finch all made their way onto the bench.

With just two wins in their last six, Swansea were hoping to lift their spirits at the Riverside and chalked down the first chance of the game after a whipped ball in from Pereira Martins found Jerry Yates but a poor touch allowed Jonny Howson the chance to clear.

Boro returned the favour as Matt Clarke's lofted ball over to Latte Lath allowed the Ivorian to turn on the afterburners to open some space for a shot at the front post that seemed to be tipped wide by Carl Rushworth and yet questionably kept in play by the visitors, much to the confusion to the Boro faithful.

Swansea managed to get another half chance against the run of play, as Yates was yet again found via a Pereira Martins cross, but failed to make Seny Dieng work.

Finn Azaz whizzed his shot just wide of Rushworth's goal, being played in by Latte Lath, whose pace once again got Boro going on the break.

Sam Greenwood's relentless pressing won Boro the ball on the byline, finding Isiah Jones inside the box using some quick feet to create a chance that went just over the bar.

Latte Lath was looking busier as the first half went on, getting among the chances again, heading just wide from a pinpoint Luke Ayling cross.

Boro's tidy combination play got the better of the visitors and Latte Lath once again fired a shot at the Rushworth, which was held gratefully at his chest.

Being the foreman of most of Boro's good play, it just had to be Latte Lath to get Boro's goal minutes before the break, as Rushworth spilt a Boro cross he got onto the scraps, with time for a cheeky nutmeg before shooting he opened back up onto his left foot and slotted a great finish in off the post.

Isaiah Jones' good reading of the play got Boro their first chance of the second period, intercepting Rushworth's pass to play a low ball into Azaz only for his effort to be saved.

Seny Dieng was sprung into action for the first time in the second half, getting down quickly to bring a Jamal Lowe shot into his midriff.

Swansea looked more lively in the second half, opening a few opportunities for themselves in the early stages of the first half, but couldn't break through the Boro back line.

After a lively start, chances were few and far between in the second half but when Latte Lath had the chance to double his tally and Boro's lead he made no mistake, dummying a left-footed shot before curling into the top corner with his right.

A professional performance from Boro earned another three points on the board for the Teessiders.
