Zach Hemming's St Mirren have secured a second successive top-six finish in Scotland for the first time in almost four decades.

The Buddies were beaten 2-1 at home by Hearts, but closest rivals Dundee also slipped up, against Motherwell, and Hemming and Co are now eyeing the prospect of a strong finish to the season and potential qualification for Europe. St Mirren's goal was scored by one-time Boro man Toyosi Olusana.

In the EFL, there were contrasting emotions in League One for another two of our on-loan goalkeepers.

While Sol Brynn was celebrating Leyton Orient's 3-1 win against Cheltenham, Liam Roberts' Barnsley continued to fluff their hopes of automatic promotion with a 2-1 reverse at lowly Charlton Athletic.

Hayden Coulson's Blackpool could yet still crash the play-off picture, and he played 70 minutes as they beat Garry Monk's Cambridge United 1-0.

In League Two, Jeremy Sivi was an unused sub as Harrogate Town went down 3-0 at Notts County.

There was good news for Jack Stott in the FA Trophy. Although he was an unused sub, Gateshead beat Macclesfield 2-1 to book a place in the Wembley final for the second year in a row.

In the National League, Terrell Agyemang played in Hartlepool's 2-0 win against Aldershot Town and Bryant Bilongo clocked up 90 minutes as Ebbsfleet won 2-1 against Fylde.

Dan Nkrumah has now returned to Boro after his loan spell at Dagenham and Redbridge, and Joe Gibson is also back at Rockliffe after a short stint with Darlington.

And in the Northern Premier League, Fenton John played as Morpeth lost 3-1 at Marine and Max Howells started Whitby's defeat to Stafford. Ben Beals missed the Seasiders clash through injury.
