Saturday's Under-18s clash with Blackburn Rovers was abandoned at half-time following an injury to Frankie Coulson.
The in-form striker broke on his arm on the stroke of the break and was taken to hospital by the paramedics on duty at the game.
Due to the time it would have taken to restore paramedic cover at the game - a Premier League requirement - the whistle was blown and the game abandoned with the score at 0-0.
Coulson is now home, but will return to hospital this week to assess whether surgery is required.
It goes without saying that everyone at Boro wishes Frankie a speedy recovery.
