Boro's Under-21s will travel to Reading in the PL2 play-offs.

As part of the revamped development league this season, Boro are one of 16 teams who have qualified for the end-of-season play-offs. The rounds now proceed in single-leg knockout fashion, with the team that finished higher during the league campaign taking home advantage. 1st will play 16th, 2nd will play 15th, and so on.

Mark Tinkler's Teessiders narrowly missed out on home advantage after a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at the Riverside in the regular season curtain call. Instead, having ended it 11th in the rankings, a trip to sixth-placed Reading awaits.

The sides previously met in a 2-2 draw back in December, Ajay Matthews at the double for Boro.

The match will kick off at 12 noon on Saturday 4 May at The Select Car Leasing Stadium. Ticket information will be confirmed by the home club in due course.
