Boro Women are delighted to announce a partnership with the world’s fastest-growing extension specialist Additional Lengths.

With a shared vision, Additional Lengths and Middlesbrough F.C. Women have joined forces to showcase that women can break moulds and take pride in their appearance as professional sportspeople without compromising respect. The partnership is designed to inspire a new generation of young athletes who may struggle to find relatable role models in the sports world.

We all want to see female role models in sport and are disheartened to see the high stats of young women and girls dropping out of sport due to a lack of self-confidence,” says Carrie Tyler. Marketing Director of Additional Lengths, “As a North-East business, partnering with Middlesbrough F.C. Women is a natural fit for us. These women, like so many others, go to additional lengths to progress their careers. We aim to drive awareness of these players as inspiration for a generation that still finds it challenging to see relatable figures in sports.”

A recent survey from Women in Sport Org showed that 73% of girls don’t like others watching them take part in sport, 43% of girls who used to identify as sporty drop out of sport after primary school due to teenage girls being pushed out of sport as a consequence of deep-rooted gender stereotypes, most shockingly over 1 million girls have fallen out of love with sport.

Confidence plays a major role in every teenage girls’ life both on and off the pitch, it’s a key factor in exclusion from sports, working with Middlesbrough F.C. Women, Additional Lengths wants to re-shape the narrative of femininity to being strong, confident and capable, ready to take on the world, championing female confidence and empowering young women through education and encouragement.

This partnership strives to make these gender stereotypes a thing of the past and reflect on the accomplishments of these remarkable women and the brand's commitment to supporting their journey. “Our name, Additional Lengths, speaks volumes about what these women have already achieved.” says Additional Lengths founder Victoria Lynch “We want to help smash that glass ceiling for them. Confidence plays a major role in every teenage girl’s life both on and off the pitch, it’s a key factor in exclusion from sports, working with Middlesbrough F.C. Women, we want to re-shape the narrative of femininity to being strong, confident, and capable, ready to take on the world, championing female confidence and empowering young women through education and encouragement”.

The exciting new partnership will see the Additional Lengths branding feature as the official back-of-shorts sponsor for Boro Women for the 24/25 season, which kicks off on August 18.
