Boro Women rounded off pre-season with an away win over Barnsley Women FC.
Michael Mulhern's selection featured two changes from the side at Derby County, with Nic Havery and Abby Towers being replaced by Ellen Turnbull and Emma Foster.
The first half was that of plenty of Boro possession controlling the game without making any clear-cut chances.
Armani Maxwell was the outlet of many good things, using her quick feet to get out of tight areas out wide but missing that final touch to send Boro in.
Barnsley's first chance came by way of a free-kick on the edge of the box that was sent over Laura Wareham's goal.
On the 20-minute mark came a decent chance for Boro as Sarah Burn found herself bearing down on goal, firing over.
Armani Maxwell once again found some space, this time in behind, misfiring a looping long ball on the half-volley.
For all of Boro's good ball play their press was equally as impressive, with Beth Guy and Jess Mett winning the ball high in Barnsley's half, Mett squaring the ball to Turnbull whose shot was saved.
Mett would then find herself on the end of a couple of chances before the break, hitting a fantastic shot from distance just over the bar, then twisting and shooting wide from just inside the box.
Goalless at the break, boss Mulhern changed only his goalkeeper, bringing on Ruby Cook for Wareham for the second 45.
The game continued sin similar fashion until a triple change with Faye Dale, Abby Towers and Millie Bell replacing Emma Foster, Armani Maxwell and Ellen Packham.
The subs made an instant impact, with Dale's first touch of the ball a shot across goal forcing a good save from the Barnsley keeper.
Next of the subs to have a chance was Bell bringing another great save from an equally well-hit strike.
Mett then found herself on the end of another chance, racing in behind the Barnsley defence and firing a shot towards goal, which was saved once more.
Rolling subs saw both Maxwell and Foster re-introduced and Sharna Wilkinson brought on for her first Boro minutes.
Boro continued to dominate as the game wore on having the lion's share of possession, and Wilkinson was on the end of Boro's next chance, as she went close from a free-kick in a dangerous area.
That relentless effort from Boro paid off in the end, as Lauren Robson sent in a low corner that was hit towards goal by Towers, and Sarah Burn got the final touch to knick it past the keeper and get Boro the win in the dying embers.
Boro Women end their pre-season unbeaten and on a high as they race towards their first game of the season against Cheadle Town Stingers on Sunday 18 August at Stockton Town.
