A round-up of Boro's summer business...
The summer window began with a returning face, Luke Ayling making his switch from Leeds United permanent after a successful loan stint.
Next through the door was Delano Burgzorg, the forward arriving from German club Mainz.
That was soon followed by US international Aidan Morris making the switch from Columbus Crew, the energetic midfielder going on to become Boro’s 1,000th professional player on his debut.
Departing the club, Hayden Coulson headed for Blackpool in a permanent move, while Bryant Bilongo left for Bristol Rovers.
Academy youngster Terrell Agyemang left on loan for Airdrieonians, while Sammy Silvera went south on a season-long switch to Portsmouth. Goalkeeper Zach Hemming was loaned to Leyton Orient and Jack Hannah to Queen of the South.
Promising defender Harley Hunt was signed from Swindon Town, then talented youngster Micah Hamilton was next to join the club, penning terms from Manchester City.
Scottish international Tommy Conway then arrived in a long-mooted permanent switch from fellow Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City.
And Boro’s ranks were further bolstered by the acquisition of Brazilian full-back Neto Borges from Clermont Foot.
On Deadline Day, Boro swooped to sign coveted winger Ben Doak on a season-long loan from Liverpool.
Three Academy graduates made loan switches, Josh Coburn joining Millwall, Sonny Finch moving to MK Dons and Pharrell Willis linking up with Queen of the South. AJ Bridge left for Norwich City in a permanent transfer.
