Boro Women face AFC Fylde at home this Sunday as they return to league action.

Read up on the Coasters in time for Sunday's 2pm kick-off at Stockton Town F.C.

The background

Fylde are heading to Teesside still in search of their first win of the season.

The Coasters' only point comes from an opening-day draw at Barnsley with Lois Moore and Millie Tindall grabbing the goals.

Fylde were then dealt a 3-1 loss to Leeds in their next outing, despite going a goal ahead early on through Karri Chan.

In midweek the Coasters were on the wrong side of a 7-0 scoreline against Premier Division side Burnley, in the FAWNL League Cup.

Fylde had been in the Northern Premier League since 2006 but were relegated last season, finishing in 12th place and picking up six points in 22 games, but this season the Coasters will be one of a hatful of teams looking to finish in the top spot and earn promotion.

Key players

Karri Chan is a player to keep an eye on this Sunday - she is just 19 but has already played on the international stage for Hong Kong and has plenty of high-level experience with Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers. Chan also bagged her first goal of the season against Leeds United last week.

Isobel Binks has been at Fylde for three seasons and has racked up 46 appearances for the Coasters and is a reassuring presence in the defence for this Sunday's visitors.

Sasha Rowe has just made her 100th appearance for Fylde after signing in 2018 and has been 'Miss Consistent' since joining, always being reliable for the Coasters during her time at the club.

Past meetings

The two sides last met in 2022 in a nine-goal FA Cup thriller with the Coasters coming out 5-4 winners after extra time.
