Fenton John scored on his return to Northern Premier League side Morpeth Town, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 4-3 defeat to Atherton Collieries. 

John is now in his third spell with the Northumberland club having joined on another short-term loan last week. His goal was a free-kick, the last in a late Town rally that fell just short.

Elsewhere in the Northern Leagues, Nathan Fisher was in goal for Newton Aycliffe in a 4-3 win away to Ossett United. 

In Scotland, Zach Hemming enjoyed a big win with St Mirren as they dispatched Hibernian 3-0 on their travels. The Boro keeper can be seen below celebrating his 13th clean sheet of the season and the three points with former Boro man Caolan Boyd-Munce, who laid on two assists. 

Sol Brynn was also celebrating victory with Leyton Orient, who beat Carlisle United 3-2. The O's are unbeaten since before Christmas, and are in the chasing pack for the League One play-offs. 

Liam Roberts and Barnsley are also in the third-tier promotion hunt, they picked up a valuable 1-1 draw at Bolton Wanderers with the Boro loanee in goal.

Elsewhere in League One, Hayden Coulson suffered his first defeat with Blackpool as they were edged out 1-0 by in-form Stevenage. 

In League Two, Jeremy Sivi got his first minutes of the year from the bench as Harrogate Town picked up a 1-1 draw at table-topping Stockport County.

In the National League, Jack Stott was also a used sub as Gateshead made it back-to-back wins with a 1-0 success at Southend United.
