Boro Women are back at home once more this weekend, facing rivals Leeds United this Sunday.

Boro got off to a perfect start in 2024, beating promotion-chasing rivals Hull City Ladies last weekend.

A goal each from Player of the Match Ellen Turnbull and Abby Towers helped Boro see off the top scorers in the league. Keeping a clean sheet means Boro still haven't conceded a single goal at home all season, and are unbeaten in the league since September.

Sitting joint second in the table, Michael Mulhern's side have a tough run of fixtures to get the year up and running; after the win over Hull, Boro have Leeds, Stockport, Barnsley and Durham coming up one after another.

Opposition

Leeds sit fourth in the league, three points off Boro, and come to the MAP Group Stadium off the back of a 4-2 Yorkshire derby win against Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Leeds forward Jessica Rousseau is the top scorer in the league with 16 goals in just as many games, scoring twice in their win last week.

Leeds' only three losses have all come from the three teams above them in the league; Boro, Hull and Barnsley, so they will be hoping to prove they can get into that pack this weekend.

Previous Encounters

Leeds United Women sat top of the league when the two sides last faced each other in September but Boro took home a 1-0 victory courtesy of an Ellen Packham goal after she latched onto a looped ball from a set-piece.

Further additions to Boro's squad were yet to come at the time - players like striker Nichole Havery had not yet donned the red shirt - but another spirited team effort and top performance at the back added three points to Boro's tally on the day.

Tickets are available on the gate at the MAP Group Stadium, Stockton Town, Bishopton Road West, Stockton-on-Tees TS19 0QD, with only card payment accepted. U16's free entry!
