All the background on our newest signing Shelly Brogden.

After a period of playing in the states Shelly Brogden has returned to home soil and put pen to paper with the Boro.

Shelly joined Concord University Mountain Lions in 2019 and made 75 appearances in her time across the pond, racking up 21 goals and 37 assists in her four year tenure.

Before leaving for her scholarship Shelly found her trade playing for Sunderland Women and Durham Women.

A tricky midfielder who has an eye for goal Shelly already had bags of expirience under her belt and was described as a leader on and off the field from her coaches while playing in America.

While at Concncord University Mountain Lions Shelly guided her team to a Mountain East Women's Soccer Tournament win in 2019 and for the second time in 2021 and made the Elite Eight in the National Championships.

Shelly also had expiriences playing and training with England women as a youngster.

Heres what Shelly had to say on joining the Boro:

"I'm so glad to be a part of it!" She said.

"Training has been good and intense so far, coming into a team like this you have to be ready and prepared but I'm up for the challenge, it's good.

"With a team like this you want to push to be the highest.

"The girls are doing a tremendous job so far, I'm just hoping I can add to that success and we can push forward and keep getting these wins."
