As we near the halfway point of the season for Boro Women's development team, we spoke to head coach Harry Gibson to get his assessment.

The development team sit second in the league having won eight out of their ten league games, boasting the third-best defence in the league. 

Kerri Heslop, Emilie Onions and Hannah Robson have all played every game this season, gaining invaluable experience as they look to break into the first team. 

Young starlet Amber Rodgers is one Boro youngster impressing in the development team, scoring 17 goals in 12 appearances, making her the joint-third top scorer in the league, all at just 18 years old.

Harry Gibson, the development team head coach has given his assessment on the side's progression and aims.

"It’s been a really bright start to the season," he said.

"Navigating a competitive league and positioning ourselves near the top of the table while still being in a cup competition gives us plenty to look forward to for the rest of the campaign. 

"The group is extremely talented and there is huge togetherness within the squad.

"Seeing them enjoying their football and appreciating being part of the group is an important factor in their development and plays a big part in our success so far. 

"We’re all excited for the rest of the season.

"Our focus is on player development and preparing them for the transition to first team football. 

"We have a team filled with highly motivated and driven individuals who are striving to make that leap. 

"Our commitment to player development and nurturing our own talent fuels the team's aspirations and is a recipe for future success.

"We want to win as many of our remaining games as we can and see where that takes us. All while prioritising the development and progression of our players, aiming for future integration into the first team."
