We’re delighted to announce that our legendary Carling Cup-winning team are reuniting on Teesside to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of Boro’s greatest day.
In an event hosted at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Thursday 29 February - two decades to the day since our Carling Cup triumph in Cardiff - and hosted by BBC Radio Tees presenter Gary Philipson, it will be chance to reminisce about Boro’s journey to the competition’s final, the thrilling victory over Bolton Wanderers that ended our 128-year wait for major silverware, and the celebrations that followed.
Headlining the event’s guest list are cup-lifting club captain and now England boss Gareth Southgate, as well as talismanic fan favourite Juninho, while we’re also delighted to be bringing Franck Queudrue, George Boateng, Stewart Downing, Massimo Maccarone and Szilard Nemeth back to the Boro. We are hopeful of confirming more special guests from the iconic victorious team in due course.
