The Boro U21 squad are taking part in a pre-season tournament at the Niederrheinstadion in Oberhausen this weekend.
The Germany city is twinned with Middlesbrough and the tournament has been organised by hosts Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and their fanbase to celebrate the club's 120-year anniversary.
The tournament is taking place on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 July featuring Boro and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, as well as KFC Uerdingen 05 and Wuppertaler SV.
Boro U21s lead coach, Mark Tinkler said: “It is good to face different teams abroad because it’s a challenge.
“The trip lets the team build stronger relationships, especially with some Under-18s coming up into the group something like this always helps.”
For any Boro fans making the trip to Germany, the U21s manager said: “It will be nice to see some fans out there in their Boro shirts and it’s great for the players to play in front of them."
