Boro U21s are set to continue their pre-season preparations in Canada over the next week.
The squad will be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where they will face Ipswich Town’s U21s on Saturday 20 July.
Across the 12-day trip the side will also face Halifax Wanderers who play in the Canadian Premier League.
The U21s will face the Canadian side on Wednesday 24 July and Saturday 27 July.
Ahead of their visit to North America, Boro’s U21s lead coach, Mark Tinkler said: “We will look at our shape more and how we play with and without the ball to try get the lads back into some of the things we did well last season.
"We also want to try to get the lads more minutes to get us ready for our remaining pre-season games.
"As well as the games being away for 12 days is a good chance to build the bonds and let the team get to know each other which always helps."
The U21s faced Ipswich in the Premier League Cup twice last year in which they got the better of the tractor boys in a 2-0 win, but the opposition claimed their own victory over Boro later in the season.
Despite playing Ipswich, the U21s do face new opposition in Halifax and Mark Tinkler said: “Seeing how they do things will be a new experience for me and the lads and one we can learn from.”
