We're delighted to confirm that Juninho will be the club's special guest for our pre-season friendly with Heerenveen at the Riverside.
It promises to be an emotional return to Teesside for The Little Fella, who pulled on a Boro shirt for the final time in a friendly with PSV 13 years ago.
We'll be inviting Juninho pitchside at half-time to be greeted by and speak to the Boro faithful, while there's also chance for hospitality guests to hear from him in our lounges on the day.
The match pits Michael Carrick's side against Heerenveen - managed by the Boro boss' former Manchester United teammate Robin van Persie - in the final friendly action before the campaign proper gets underway a week later.
Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for Over-65s and just £1 for Under-18s. Seats are initially being sold from the West Stand and South Stand for the game, with further areas opening subject to demand.

Juninho's return to the north east includes a special night of nostalgia in the company of two more former Boro greats, with tickets available now.
Organised by The Red Radio and taking place at the Stockton Globe on Thursday 1 August, Juninho will take to the stage alongside Craig Hignett and Paul Merson to share their tales from some of the greatest days in Boro history.
Fans attending will also have the unique opportunity of joining the players on stage to participate in football-themed competitions.
