Riley McGree declared himself 'proud' after signing a new four-year deal with Boro.

The Australian midfielder has been a vital part of Michael Carrick's side since moving to the Riverside in January 2022.

He has now committed his future to the club until the summer of 2028 after putting pen to paper.

The 25-year-old said: "It feels amazing.

"I'm really happy and proud to have extended my time here.

"As a club we're extremely ambitious and we know where we want to be.

"We want to be in the Premier League and we want to get promoted, hopefully sooner rather than later.

"Within this four-year period that I'm now here, I want to achieve those team goals and also some personal goals for myself.

"We know what we want and what we’re capable of as a team, and hopefully there are many exciting times ahead this season and going forward."
