Boro legend Juninho is set to make his return to Teesside with a special night-with-the-fans on Thursday 1 August where he'll be joined by Craig Hignett and Paul Merson.
The Little Fella, Higgy and Merse will be on stage at the Stockton Globe for what’s being billed as an unforgettable evening of entertainment and banter.
This event, “Boro Legends – Magic Midfielders,” promises to be a night to remember for Boro fans, some of whom will get on stage to take on the players in football challenges and quizzes.
Fan favourite Juninho played 148 times for the Boro across three spells at the Riverside Stadium and is fondly remembered for his samba skills. Affectionately known as "The Little Fella" during his time at the Boro, Juninho shared his excitement about returning to his second home: “I can’t wait to be back on Teesside and meet the fans. The way they welcomed me to Middlesbrough was incredible, it’s in my heart. I’ve always held a place in my heart for the people and for the town. The event is going to bring back so many good memories, it is going to be so special for me too. See you soon.”
Paul Merson joined Middlesbrough from Arsenal in a move that caught many by surprise. His time playing under Bryan Robson culminated in featuring in the 1998 League Cup Final, where Boro took Chelsea to extra time at Wembley before losing 2-0. After first arriving in Teesside in 1992, Craig Hignett still lives in the area.
Tickets for the night start at £49.99, and include a Meet & Greet option for fans to meet their heroes. They are available now at www.stocktonglobe.co.uk.
