The lowdown on our second summer recruit...
Delano was born in Amsterdam on 7 November 1998.
He turned professional with Dutch side De Graafschap and made his debut at the age of 19, helping them win promotion to the Eredivisie. He followed that by scoring nine goals on their return to the top flight and was called up for the Netherlands U20s.
A move to Italy followed and he played his part in a season that saw Spezia win promotion to Serie A before returning to the Netherlands, initially on loan, with Heracles Almelo. Heracles challenged for European competition with Delano scoring ten goals, and his form attracted Bundesliga side Mainz 05.
He initially joined the German side on loan before the club exercised their right to sign him permanently and he joined on a three-year contract.
In the summer of 2023, he joined Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan and was one of the few bright lights for the Terriers, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 33 games during a season that saw four different managers at the helm.
Delano agreed a four-year contract with Boro in June 2024.
