Boro Women made it 16 unbeaten with their 3-2 win over Chester Le Street under the lights on Wednesday.
Michael Mulhern named an unchanged starting 11 from the side that won 5-0 against Doncaster Rovers Belles at the Riverside at the weekend, with only one switch on the bench as Rose McCarthy made way for Millie Bell.
The Teessiders struggled to get into their usual flow in the first half as the conditions on the night and on the pitch prevented them from playing their usual patient build-up.
Neither team made any real clear-cut chances in the opening 20 minutes but there was plenty of scrappy moments created by awkward bounces of the ball.
It was one of those scrappy moments that made the first goal, going the home side's way as a bobbling ball caused Boro problems and was poked home by a Chester Le Street attacker.
After going behind Boro pushed on with a number of set pieces as Chester Le Street got stuck in.
Boro still hadn't got into their groove as half-time loomed, but they did find a way to level the scores. A perfect delivery to the back post from Lauren Robson was met by the head of a diving Nic Havery - the striker pulling out her best Robin Van Persie impression to send the ball flying into the net.
In the second half, Boro showed they could adapt to unfavourable conditions, starting quickly and with high energy.
Sarah Burn carved open a great chance inside five minutes, showing great footwork to make space to shoot, but it was just tipped wide of the post by the 'keeper.
Boro pressed high up the pitch to win the ball and play in Jess Mett, who turned well and unleashed a rocket from 25 yards to put Boro ahead.
Mulhern had made his first change early in the second half with Faye Dale coming on for Havery to add some pace up top, and another change for Boro came not long after as Robson made way for Eve Marshall in midfield.
Chester Le Street became frustrated as the clock ticked on and this went in Boro's favour, as Dale was sent in behind, smashing her shot against the bar, only for the 'keeper to punch the rebound into her own net for Boro's third of the night.
With little to do in the second half, Boro's goalkeeper Laura Wareham stayed switched on when called upon as she rushed into the danger area to smother the ball at an attacker's feet.
Armani Maxwell came on for goalscorer Mett for Boro's final sub, and had an almost instant impact. She was played in behind and rifled her shot against the 'keeper, Marshall scrambled the rebound across goal, and Dale was there to meet it but could only hit the ball into the side netting.
Chester Le Street pulled one back from a ranged looping effort which caught Wareham off guard, but it was a mere consolation goal as the referee blew for full-time soon after.
