Paddy McNair skippered a young Northern Ireland side to a credible 1-1 draw in Romania during the opening round of international matches.

Jamie Reid scored just seven minutes into his debut, but the hosts hit back to secure a draw.

Anfernee Dijksteel was also on the international stage when he won his second cap for Suriname.

Suriname came from behind to draw 1-1 with Martinique in a friendly in the Netherlands.

Riley McGree was the only other Boro player to feature in the opening round of international games, but injury saw him withdrawn during the first half of Australia's 2-0 World Cup qualifying win against Lebanon.

Riley has now returned to Rockliffe for his injury to be assessed.
