Paddy McNair has confirmed he is set to depart Boro at the end of his contract this summer.

The popular Northern Irishman racked up more than 200 appearances in a Boro shirt since joining in 2018, and was voted our Player of the Season in 2020/21.

A versatile and reliable figure for a series of Boro bosses, he also leaves as one of the most capped players during their time with the club, behind only Mark Schwarzer in the record books.

His last appearance was in the 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers in March before his season was curtailed following an injury sustained while on international duty.

"After six years and 219 appearances my time at Boro has come to an end," he said.

"Big thank you to all of the players, staff and the fans for the support throughout the years. Looking forward to the next chapter."

Head Coach Michael Carrick said: "Paddy has been a great servant to the club and an important figure during my time here.

"We wish him all the best for the future."
